Education: Intermediate
Experience: Minimum 2 to 3 Years of Hands-on Experience in Food Retail specifically in Butchery Department
Skills & Responsibilities:
- Preparing different cuts and weighing meat for customers (including cutting, boning, slicing, and trimming), packing, weighing, & labeling meat, reducing wastes & maintaining supplies.
- Receive ordered meat (Veal, Beef, and Poultry) supplies & ensure that correct quantity & quality has been delivered.
- Use a variety of meat cutting equipment to slice various types of cuts.
- Cut, trim, and bone meat according to predefined instructions.
- Ensure that different types of cuts are separated for easy packing purposes.
- Prepare pre-defined cuts meat and place them in Styrofoam trays, ensure that all filled trays are packed with plastic wrap and either displayed in freezers or stored in cold storage.
- Taking delivery & Move meat stock to cold storage areas and ensure that it is stored in a hygienic manner.
- Storing meat appropriately (e.g., hanging meat, cold storage at correct temperature).
- Using machinery to prepare meat.
- Serving customers over the counter and/or delivering meat to customers.
- Responsible for the portioning of all meats (staff) and other duties assigned by Floor/Store Manager.
- Lead inventory-taking for all raw meat & poultry products.
- Maintain the display case with a view to show each available cut of meat.
- Ensure that the cutting and packing area is clean and sanitized several times a day.
- Estimate requirements and order or requisition meat supplies to maintain inventories.
