Qualifications

Registered Medical Practitioner from Pakistan Veterinary Medical Council.
10-12 years of relevant professional experience within large-scale/corporate dairy farm(s).

Knowledge and skills

Strong practical knowledge of dairy cattle herd health management.
Proven experience in managing veterinary operations and leading a health/veterinary team.
Sound understanding of dairy cattle diseases, preventive medicine, vaccination, biosecurity, and treatment protocols.
Experience with farm health records, data analysis, and herd health KPIs.
Strong communication, leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

To assist in achieving departmental objectives through;

Develop, implement, and monitor comprehensive herd health management programs.
Lead preventive healthcare programs, including vaccination, deworming, disease surveillance, and routine health monitoring.
Establish and maintain effective disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and control protocols.
Monitor herd health indicators, morbidity, mortality, reproductive health, and treatment outcomes.
Ensure timely identification, investigation, and management of infectious and metabolic diseases.
Oversee biosecurity protocols across the farm and recommend improvements where required.
Manage and monitor veterinary medicines, vaccines, supplies, and their appropriate usage.
Maintain accurate health records and analyze farm health data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
Work closely with the Nutrition, Feeding Operations, Breeding, and Milking teams to optimize overall herd performance.
Supervise, coach, and develop veterinary and animal-health staff.
Investigate health-related production losses and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
Prepare regular reports on herd health, disease trends, mortality, treatment performance, and key health KPIs.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives in herd health and farm biosecurity.
