JOB OPPORTUNITIES
Contract Appointments – One (1) Year, Extendable
Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad invites applications from qualified and competent Pakistani nationals for twelve (12) posts listed below. Appointments will be made on a contract basis for a period of one (1) year, extendable subject to satisfactory performance. Selection will be made on the basis of interview only. The last date for submission of applications is 15 November 2026.
VACANT POSITIONS
1. Project Manager (BPS-17)

Qualification Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (16 years of education) in Civil, Electrical or Computer Engineering, Project Management, Business Administration (MBA) or Urban Planning, from an HEC-recognized university.
- PEC registration required for engineering graduates.
- PMP / PRINCE2 certification will be an added advantage.
Preferred Experience (Not Mandatory)
Experience in planning, execution, monitoring and reporting of development/infrastructure projects, including budgeting, procurement (PPRA rules), contract management and stakeholder coordination. (Additional weightage)
2. Urban Planning Expert (BPS-17)

Qualification Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (16 years of education) in Urban & Regional Planning, City Planning or Town Planning from an HEC-recognized university.
- Valid PCATP registration as Planner.
- Working knowledge of GIS software (ArcGIS / QGIS) preferred.
Preferred Experience (Not Mandatory)
Experience in urban/master planning, land-use and spatial planning, zoning and building regulations, GIS-based analysis or urban development projects. (Additional weightage)
3. Architect (BPS-17)

Qualification Requirements
- Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch, 5-year programme) from an HEC-recognized university.
- Valid PCATP registration as Architect.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit / ArchiCAD, SketchUp and MS Office.
Preferred Experience (Not Mandatory)
Post-registration experience in architectural design, working and detailed drawings, BOQs, specifications and supervision of public buildings/urban projects. (Additional weightage)
4. Draftsman (BPS-17)

Qualification Requirements
- DAE (3-year Diploma of Associate Engineer) in Architecture or Civil Technology from a recognized Board of Technical Education.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D/3D); working knowledge of Revit preferred.
Preferred Experience (Not Mandatory)
Experience in architectural/civil drafting, preparation of working drawings, site plans, sections and as-built drawings. (Additional weightage)
5. Graphic Designer (BPS-17)

Qualification Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (16 years of education) in Graphic Design, Visual Communication Design, Fine Arts or equivalent from an HEC-recognized university.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign); motion graphics skills preferred.
- Portfolio of work is mandatory.
Preferred Experience (Not Mandatory)
Experience in graphic design, branding, publications, infographics, signage and digital/social media content. (Additional weightage)
6. IT Expert (BPS-17)
No. of Posts: 02
Qualification Requirements
- BS/MS (16 years of education) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or equivalent from an HEC-recognized university.
- Professional certifications (e.g. CCNA, MCSE, CISSP, Oracle/AWS) will be an added advantage.
Preferred Experience (Not Mandatory)
Experience in software/web development, GIS and e-governance systems, database and network administration or cybersecurity. (Additional weightage)
7. Cultural Arts Expert (BPS-17)
No. of Posts: 01
Qualification Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (16 years of education) in Fine Arts, Cultural Studies, Art History, Heritage Management, Performing Arts or equivalent from an HEC-recognized university.
- Portfolio of curated projects/events is mandatory.
Preferred Experience (Not Mandatory)
Experience in arts and cultural programming, heritage promotion/conservation, curation of exhibitions and festivals, public art and community cultural engagement. (Additional weightage)
8. Interior Spatial Expert (BPS-17)
No. of Posts: 01
Qualification Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (16 years of education) in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, Spatial Design or Architecture from an HEC-recognized university.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp / 3ds Max and rendering software.
- Portfolio of work is mandatory.
Preferred Experience (Not Mandatory)
Experience in interior and spatial design of public/commercial buildings, space planning, fit-out and furniture layouts, material specifications, BOQs and site supervision. (Additional weightage)

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
1. Age: Up to a maximum of 30 years as on the closing date, i.e. 15 November 2026. Age relaxation will be admissible only as per Government rules.
2. Education: Relevant degree/diploma, as specified against each post, from an HEC-recognized university or a recognized board/institution. Foreign degrees must be accompanied by an HEC equivalence certificate.
3. Experience: Experience is not mandatory. However, relevant professional experience, as indicated against each post, in national or international projects/organizations will be given additional weightage at the time of interview. Only experience gained after the date of the required qualification/registration will be considered.
4. Nationality & Character: Candidates must be Pakistani nationals of good moral character, with no criminal record and no pending disciplinary proceedings.
TERMS & CONDITIONS
1. Nature of Employment: All posts are purely on a contract basis for a period of one (1) year, extendable subject to satisfactory performance. The appointment will not confer any right to regularization or permanent absorption.
2. Mode of Selection: Selection will be made on the basis of interview only. No written test will be conducted. Candidates having relevant experience will be given additional weightage.
3. Last Date: Applications must reach by 15 November 2026 (before 4:00 PM). Late or incomplete applications will not be entertained.
4. Documents Required: Application on the prescribed form/plain paper with an updated CV; attested copies of CNIC, domicile, degrees/transcripts and experience certificates (if any); PCATP registration (Architect and Urban Planning Expert posts); PEC registration (engineering graduates); portfolio of work (Graphic Designer, Cultural Arts Expert and Interior Spatial Expert); and two recent passport-size photographs.

6. Government Employees: Applicants serving in government/semi-government organizations must apply through proper channel and produce a No Objection Certificate (NOC) at the time of interview.
7. Any false or misleading information will lead to disqualification at any stage, including after appointment.
8. Canvassing in any form will lead to disqualification.
9. Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad reserves the right to increase, decrease or cancel any post, or reject any application, without assigning any reason.
10. Only shortlisted candidates will be called for interview. No TA/DA will be admissible.

1. Shortlisted candidates will be informed through email/phone and the website of Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad. Candidates must keep their contact details active and updated.
2. The date, time and venue of the interview will be communicated individually; no change will be entertained on personal request.
3. Candidates must bring original documents (CNIC, degrees, transcripts, registration certificates, domicile and experience certificates, if any) along with one set of attested photocopies. Candidates failing to produce original documents will not be interviewed.
4. Absentees will not be given another opportunity.
5. The decision of the Selection Committee shall be final.
