Head of Law/Legal
Location: OLP Head Office, Korangi Industrial Area, Karachi
Educational Background:
- LLB required, or LLM from a reputable institution.
- 10-15 years of progressive experience in legal advisory roles, preferably in a listed company or large organization with expertise in SECP & SBP regulations.
Reporting To: Chief Operating Officer.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead legal processes, including drafting, negotiations, and commercial settlements, while managing junior legal staff.
- Provide legal guidance to senior leadership on departmental transactions and risk management.
- Review financing agreements, compliance frameworks, and mortgage documents.
- Advise on litigation issues, including contract disputes and product liability.
- Influence cross-functional teams and senior leadership towards unified goals.
- Negotiate and manage complex transactional documents, including mergers, acquisitions, and contracts and mitigate risks.
- Mentor and develop legal team members for future leadership roles.
- Handle patent, trademark, and regulatory documentation in a fast-paced environment.
- Collaborate with external legal partners.
- Assist HR and other departments in reviewing contracts and implementing legal improvements.
- Prepare responses to notices from regulators and advise on overdue litigation risks.
