Position: Assistant Manager- IT Infrastructure

Job Location: Islamabad, Pakistan
Job Summary:
The Assistant IT Manager – Infrastructure will support the IT Manager in overseeing the organization’s IT infrastructure, ensuring the availability, performance, and security of all IT infrastructure components. This role involves managing and optimizing network systems, servers, firewall, switches, storage solutions, and related technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
. Infrastructure Management: Assist in the management, maintenance, and optimization of the organization’s IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, Fortigate Firewall, storage systems, cloud services, etc.
· Monitoring and Performance: Monitor infrastructure performance, availability, and capacity, and implement improvements to ensure optimal operation.
· Network Security Management: Design, implement, and manage Fortigate firewall solutions to protect our network from external threats. Configure and maintain Fortigate firewall policies, VPNs, and other security features. Monitor network traffic and security alerts to proactively identify and respond to potential security incidents.
· Support and Troubleshooting: Provide technical support for infrastructure-related issues, troubleshoot and resolve problems, and escalate complex issues as needed.
· Project Management: Support IT projects related to infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and installations, including planning, coordination, and execution.
· Vendor Management: Assist in managing relationships with vendors and service providers, including evaluating and recommending solutions.
Desired Qualifications:
· Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science from a reputable university along with relevant certifications (e.g., Cisco CCNA, MCSE, MCSA, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, Fortinet NSE (Network Security Expert), etc.
· Experience: 5-8 years of experience in IT infrastructure management, with a strong understanding of network and server technologies, virtualization, and storage solutions. Experience with ITIL or similar IT service management frameworks.
· Technical Skills: Proficiency in managing Windows and Linux servers, network devices (routers, switches, firewalls), rendering solutions, cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure), and virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V), backup solutions, e.g. Veritas, Veeam, Acronis, etc.
