Position: Assistant Manager Purchase – Raw Material
Experience: 5+ years in footwear sector
Education: Bachelors/Masters in Supply chain / Equivalent
Location: Maraka
Responsibilities:
. Develop and implement procurement strategies for raw materials used in footwear manufacturing, ensuring timely availability while optimizing costs and quality.
. Source and evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, delivery, and service.
. Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to achieve favorable terms and conditions.
. Monitor market trends, pricing, and availability of raw materials; recommend adjustments to procurement strategies as needed.
. Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, including production, design, and quality assurance teams, to ensure alignment of procurement activities with production schedules and quality standards.
. Maintain relationships with existing suppliers and identify new potential suppliers to diversify the supply chain and reduce risks.
. Conduct regular supplier performance reviews and take corrective actions as necessary to address issues and improve supplier performance.
. Manage inventory levels of raw materials to ensure adequate stock while minimizing excess inventory and associated costs.
. Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as regulatory requirements, in all procurement activities.
. Prepare and present reports on procurement performance, cost savings initiatives, and market insights to senior management.
