Applications are invited from Pakistanis Nationals for the following posts on regular / contract (extendable) basis at the University of Layyah.

POSTS AND ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

1. Associate Professor (BS-20) – Information Technology (Regular)

2. Associate Professor (BS-20) – Veterinary Microbiology (Contract)

3. Associate Professor (BS-20) – Animal Nutrition (Contract)

4. Associate Professor (BS-20) – Veterinary Pharmacology (Contract)

Qualifications & Experience for Associate Professor:

General:
- (i) PhD in relevant subject or equivalent qualification from an Institute or university recognized by Higher Education Commission.
- (ii) (a) Ten years’ teaching or research experience from a postgraduate institute or university recognized by Higher Education Commission or professional experience in the relevant field in a national or international organization; OR (b) Five years’ post Ph.D. teaching or research experience from a postgraduate institute or university recognized by Higher Education Commission or professional experience in the relevant field in a national or international organization; AND
- (iii) Ten research publications in the journals recognized by Higher Education Commission; out of which four publications must be within last five years.
For Engineering, Information Technology, and Computing Discipline:
- (i) Ph.D. in Engineering or Information Technology or Computing or equivalent qualification from an institute or university recognized by Higher Education Commission.
- (ii) (a) Ten years’ teaching or research experience from an institute or a college recognized by a Board or university recognized by Higher Education Commission or ten years professional experience in the relevant field in a national or international organization; out of which two years must be teaching experience; OR (b) Five years’ post-Ph.D. teaching or research experience from a postgraduate institute or university recognized by Higher Education Commission or professional experience in the relevant field in a national or international organization; AND
- (iii) Ten research publications in the journals recognized by Higher Education Commission or Pakistan Engineering Council; out of which four publications must be within last five years.

5. Assistant Professor (BS-19) – Veterinary Microbiology (Contract)

Qualification for Assistant Professor:

(i) PhD in relevant subject or equivalent qualification from an institute of higher education or University recognized by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan.

10. Lecturer (BS-18) – Veterinary Physiology (Contract)

Age Limit: 21–35 years

11. Lecturer (BS-18) – Livestock Management (Contract)

No. of Posts: One (1)
Age Limit: 21–35 years

Qualification for Lecturer:

(i) MS/ M.Sc. (Hons) or M.Phil. (First division) or equivalent qualification in the relevant subject from an institute of higher education or University recognized by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan.
Note: A candidate must not have third division in whole academic career, however, having degree of Ph.D. in the relevant field and has not more than one third division in the academic career, shall be eligible.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

Applicants are required to apply online through the university website www.ul.edu.pk.
Last date for submission of online applications is 01-09-2026. Online Portal will be linked down after this date. Applicants are advised to upload a passport-size photograph with a blue background on the online portal and provide a valid email address and WhatsApp number.
Processing Fee: Associate Professor = Rs. 7000/-, Assistant Professor = Rs. 5000/-, and Lecturer = Rs. 4000/-.
Five sets of Application Form for Associate Professor and one set of Application Form for Assistant Professor and Lecturer along with attested copies of transcripts, degrees, certificates, experience certificates, CNIC, photographs and computer generated original paid fee voucher should reach in office of the Registrar, University of Layyah on or before 05-09-2026. For the post of Associate Professor, it is mandatory to submit the application dossiers in soft form as well.
Foreign degree holders must provide equivalence certificate issued by the HEC along with application form.
Degrees from HEC recognized Universities/degree awarding institutions will be considered.
Experience where required for determination of eligibility for a post a candidate shall have to produce documentary evidence in support of his/her claim.
Research papers in the HEC recognized journals which have been indexed in JCR and Scopus indexed (SCIE, SSCI, AHCI) or HJRS policy will be acceptable.
Review articles, case studies, translations, briefs, presentation in conference, short communications, letter to editor, etc. shall not be admissible as professional original research articles.
Applications of the candidates, whose result is not officially notified by the Controller of Examinations of a Board/University on or before the closing date, shall not be considered.
Unsigned applications shall not be entertained and in case information provided by the applicant in his/her application form is found to be incorrect or false at any stage, he/she will be disqualified, and action will be taken under the rules.
Where required, the screening test will be conducted through an independent testing service.
Candidates applying for Computer Engineering/Veterinary disciplines will also submit a copy of valid registration certificate of PEC/PVMC.
Candidates already employed in Government/Semi Government departments or Autonomous bodies must apply through proper channel by due date, along with valid experience certificate and NOC issued by the competent authority. Advance copy of application will not be entertained.
All applicable quotas for the posts shall be observed strictly in accordance with the rules and policies prescribed by the Government.
Age relaxation for serving Government Employees shall be admissible as per policy of the Government.
Only shortlisted candidates will be called for Interview. No TA/DA will be admissible.
The University shall not be responsible for any delay in the delivery or non-receipt of call letters due to any lapse on the part of the courier service, post office, or telecommunication system.
In case ten or more applications are received for an advertised post, or where required under the Service Statutes, a test (written/screening) may be conducted for all eligible candidates in accordance with the procedure approved by the Authority. The said test shall be conducted solely for shortlisting purposes, and the marks obtained therein shall not be counted towards the initial or final merit list.
The Selection Board may increase/decrease or cancel/withhold any post(s) or its all advertisement without assigning any reason, which will not be challengeable in any court of law.
Incomplete and late submission of application will not be entertained.
Decision of the University shall remain binding in all cases.
