Brief outline of main duties: To lead the sourcing and development of packaging materials including bottles, jerry cans, outers, film reel, pouches, poly bags etc., ensuring quality, cost-efficiency, and timely availability. The role involves close coordination with R&D, Marketing, Quality, and Operations teams to support innovation, sustainability, and brand positioning through packaging.

1. Packaging Material Procurement: Source primary (e.g., bottles, caps, pouches, wrappers, Jerry Cans, Buckets), secondary (e.g., cartons, sleeves, poly bags), and tertiary (e.g., pallets, shrink films) packaging materials. Float RFQs, conduct technical-commercial evaluations, and issue POs as per lead times.

2. Packaging Development Support: Coordinate trials and pilot runs with vendors and production for new packaging formats. Evaluate feasibility, cost implications, and sustainability aspects of proposed materials.

3. Supplier Management: Identify and develop a competitive supplier base for packaging materials based on supplier’s performance. Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules with vendors.

4. Cost Optimization & Innovation: Drive packaging cost-saving initiatives through alternate sourcing, lightweighting, material change, or design modifications. Monitor market trends and identify new technologies or materials that can enhance product appeal or reduce cost.

Skills Requirements: Packaging Material & Process Knowledge (Primary/Secondary/Tertiary) ERP Proficiency (SAP/MM preferred) and Time Management.

Procurement Engineer – Based in Karachi

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering, Supply Chain, or equivalent.

Working Experience: 4-6 years of relevant experience in technical and CAPEX procurement in a manufacturing or industrial environment.

Brief Overview of Responsibilities:

• Manage end-to-end procurement of engineering spares, CAPEX equipment, maintenance services, and consumables for the factory.
• Ensure timely, cost-effective sourcing while maintaining technical compliance, supplier performance, and alignment with plant operations.
• Source mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic spares for machines and utility systems.
• Oversee timely procurement of MRO items, including lubricants, tools, safety gear, and general factory consumables.
• Support Engineering and Project teams in the procurement of capital equipment (e.g., machines, utility systems, packaging lines).
• Float RFQs, conduct techno-commercial evaluations, and lead vendor negotiations for CAPEX projects.
• Coordinate with OEMs and project stakeholders regarding specifications, delivery, installation, and commissioning timelines.
• Source and manage service providers for:
  • Equipment maintenance
  • Calibration
  • Fabrication
  • Civil, mechanical, and electrical works
  • Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMCs)

Skills requirements:

• Experience in using ERP systems (SAP/MM preferred).
