About the Role:
Sapphire Diamond Fabrics Limited is seeking a Senior Assistant Manager – Mechanical to ensure the smooth operation of the Power Plant. The selected candidate will be fully responsible for the mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting of all engines and auxiliaries to ensure an uninterrupted power supply across the factory.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure the reliable and efficient operation of engines to maintain an uninterrupted power supply to all divisions of the factory.
Develop preventive and predictive maintenance plans for engines in consultation with the GM, and coordinate with OEMs and vendors for implementation.
Execute routine maintenance activities as per approved plans, SOPs, and checklists.
Manage spare parts inventory to ensure availability and maintain minimum stock levels.
Assist in the preparation of the annual mechanical budget and contribute to project development.
Lead and develop a mechanical team capable of handling emergencies and efficiently performing routine maintenance to minimize downtime.
Identify and engage new suppliers and vendors to optimize costs without compromising quality.
Coordinate with the compliance team to implement company policies and safety procedures in the Power Plant.
Liaise with lubricant and chemical vendors to ensure timely and effective sample testing, maintaining the health of engines and equipment.
Monitor and maintain auxiliaries such as pumps, cooling towers, air compressors, fans, WHRBs, and air induction rooms.
Track engine parameters daily to ensure smooth operations; generate daily reports and maintain maintenance records.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of the Power Plant through technical input and effective housekeeping.
Qualifications & Experience:
Education: Bachelor’s degree (Honors) in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering.
Experience: 4–6 years in Power Plant operations and maintenance, preferably in the textile industry.
Strong knowledge of maintenance and operation of Jenbacher 3 & 6 Series engines (preferably JGS320 & JMS616).
Proven ability to lead teams and manage multiple priorities effectively.
Hands-on experience with diesel engines, preferably Caterpillar 3412 and Cummins.
Experience in the installation and commissioning of engines and their auxiliaries.
Proficiency in ERP or SAP systems.
Familiarity with SCADA systems.
Knowledge of solar systems, grid stations, WHRBs, or steam turbines will be an added advantage.
