Qualifications
- 4 plus years of proven experience as a Network Engineer
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Technology
- Cisco CCNA / CCNP certification preferred
Knowledge and Skills
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP), switching, and network security
- Hands-on experience with Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, Palo Alto, or similar networking equipment
- Experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools
- Understanding of cloud networking (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is a plus
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
Key Responsibilities and Duties
To assist in achieving departmental objectives through:
- Design, configure, and maintain LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, VPN, and cloud-based networks
- Install, configure, and manage network hardware such as routers, switches, firewalls, and access points
- Monitor network performance and ensure high availability and reliability
- Troubleshoot and resolve network issues, outages, and performance bottlenecks
- Implement and maintain network security measures, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and access controls
- Manage IP addressing, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing, and switching
- Perform network upgrades, patches, and capacity planning
- Maintain accurate network documentation, diagrams, and procedures
- Collaborate with system administrators, security teams, and IT support staff
- Ensure compliance with company policies and industry best practices
