Position: Full-Stack Developer
Job Summary: Indus University is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Full Stack Developer to join its dynamic IT and digital development team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable web applications that support the university’s academic, administrative, and digital transformation initiatives. This role requires strong expertise in both front-end and back-end development, database management, API integration, and modern development frameworks. The candidate should be capable of working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, user-focused digital solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, test, and maintain responsive web applications that support academic and administrative operations.
- Design and implement front-end interfaces using modern frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js.
- Build and maintain secure and scalable back-end services using Node.js, PHP, Python, or similar technologies.
- Create, optimize, and manage databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc.).
- Develop and integrate RESTful APIs for internal systems and third-party platforms.
- Collaborate with UI/UX designers to convert wireframes and prototypes into functional applications.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Ensure code quality through best practices, version control (Git), and documentation.
- Work with cross-department teams to gather requirements and propose technical solutions.
- Implement security best practices to protect university data and digital assets.
- Participate in planning, sprint activities, and continuous improvement processes.
- Stay updated with emerging technologies to enhance system performance and capabilities.
Requirements:
- Full-stack or front-end engineer with a solid understanding of modern single-page web apps
- Experience with relational database / NoSQL database
- JavaScript with an in-depth grasp of asynchronous programming
- Experience with one more scripting/programming language besides JavaScript
- 2+ years experience in building responsive applications
- 2+ years experience working with React/Angular/Vue.js or similar framework, developing single-page apps
- Working experience with build systems like gulp/grunt, webpack, continuous integration (Jenkins)
- BS in Computer Science or related engineering qualification
- Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
