Job Opportunity: Category Manager – Fragrances and Accessories
LAMA is looking forward to hire Category Manager for Fragrances and Cosmetics at Lama Retail who would be having a multifaceted role, focusing on product assortment, market trends, supplier relationships, and sales strategies.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist in developing and executing a comprehensive category strategy that aligns with overall business goals and market trends.
Analyze sales data, customer feedback, and market trends to identify opportunities for product assortment improvement and expansion.
Monitor and manage the product lifecycle, including new product launches, seasonal assortment changes, and end-of-life strategies.
Conduct regular market and competitor analysis to inform assortment decisions, pricing strategies, and promotional activities.
Negotiate contracts, manage supplier performance, and collaborate on exclusive product launches or promotions.
Evaluate vendor performance based on shortening the developmental life cycle, adherence to the tech pack and pricing negotiations.
Maximize full price sell through in your category. Monitor stock outs and slow moving products, present insights and corrective actions.
Develop strategies to maximize sales and profitability within the category.
Analyze sales data to identify opportunities for growth or improvement.
Determine pricing strategies that balance competitive positioning, profitability, and customer value.
Plan and execute promotional activities, including sales events, discounts, and bundles, to drive category performance and revenue growth.
Monitor and analyze the effectiveness of pricing and promotional strategies, making adjustments as necessary.
Monitor inventory turnaround ratio to assess how efficiently inventory is sold and replaced over time in a year.
Collaborate with marketing, sales, finance and operations teams to ensure effective product launches, marketing campaigns, and inventory management.
Regularly report on category performance, highlighting successes, challenges, and areas for improvement.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Fashion or a related field. MBA or a postgraduate degree in business is a plus.
5-6 years of experience in category management, product management, in a similar role, preferably in retail cosmetics.
Proven track record of successfully managing and growing a product category, driving revenue and profitability.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and category management software.
Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret sales data, market trends, and customer insights.
Proficiency in using data analysis tools and software (e.g., Excel, data analytics platforms).
Previous experience in a similar role within the retail industry.
