SITUATION VACANT: GIS ANALYST (02 POSITIONS)

Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation (KW&SC), Pakistan’s leading public sector utility, serves the people of Karachi metropolitan area and is responsible for ensuring clean, safe drinking water and sewerage services to the public. Enacted under the Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation (KW&SC) Act 2023 which envisions organizational reforms and transforms the culture towards full corporatization and a performance-based work environment.

KW&SC is seeking qualified GIS Analysts to support modernization of water supply and sewerage services through advanced geospatial systems, asset mapping and data-driven decision-making. The selected candidates will manage GIS databases, perform spatial analysis, and develop mapping solutions to improve planning, operations and infrastructure management.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain and update GIS databases for water and sewerage assets (pipelines, valves, filter plant, manholes, pumping stations, treatment plants, land assets, etc.).
Prepare maps, drawings, dashboards, and spatial reports for planning, maintenance, and emergency response.
Conduct network and spatial analysis to identify leaks, failures, capacity issues, and service gaps.
Support engineering teams in design and planning of water and sewerage systems.
Develop web GIS platforms and dashboards using ArcGIS, QGIS, AutoCAD, ERDAS Imagine.
Coordinate field surveys using GPS, drones and mobile GIS applications.
Ensure data quality, standards compliance and proper documentation.
Train internal staff in GIS tools and workflows.

Qualification & Experience:

M.Sc. Geography / MS Remote Sensing & GIS.
Minimum 8-10 years of relevant experience in GIS, preferably in the utilities, water, wastewater, or infrastructure sectors.
Experience in asset mapping, spatial database management and enterprise GIS systems is required.
Exposure to donor-funded and public-sector projects will be an added advantage.
Candidates having experience in government projects will also be given preference.
Proficiency in ArcGIS, QGIS, AutoCAD Map, or equivalent.
Knowledge of PostGIS, SQL Server, Oracle Spatial, or similar databases.
Experience in dashboards, web maps and mobile GIS tools.
