JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs Clinical/Biochemical tests independently under minimum supervision, according to the departmental procedure manual, and when required.
- Assists the senior/charge technologist in teaching/training of junior staff, students, and trainees according to guidelines provided, as and when required.
- Follows and assists the senior/charge technologist in the implementation of safety standards according to Laboratory Safety Manual daily, for own safety and the safety of others.
- Assures that appropriate controls (negative & positive) are run with each test/batch or as per requirements according to Lab Policy.
- Conducting any other assignments as directed by the Line Manager / Group Head Laboratory.
- Checks the suitability of specimens and verifies/confirms receiving of samples in the department through computer or manually daily according to laboratory protocols.
- Inoculates and processes samples without delay as per sample requirements daily according to laboratory protocols.
- Enters patient’s data and tests into the computer or manually daily according to laboratory protocols.
REQUIREMENTS:
Academic Qualification: Bachelor of Science (BS) or Diploma in Medical Technologist
Experience: 1 to 4 Years of Clinical Laboratory Experience
KNOWLEDGE AND COMPETENCIES:
- Clinical and biochemical testing procedures.
- Laboratory safety standards and protocols.
- Quality assurance practices, including positive and negative controls.
- Attention to detail for precise testing and reporting.
- Problem-solving to address technical challenges.
- Time management to meet deadlines.
