Assistant Manager – Instrument & Control
The ideal candidate should have the following qualification, experience and skill sets:
- BE in Electrical, Electronics, Instrument Engineering or relevant field.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in I&C maintenance at thermal power plants or similar heavy industrial environments, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
- Proficiency in DCS/ PLC troubleshooting (e.g., Emerson Ovation, GE Mark VIe, Siemens PLCs).
- Strong understanding of process control pneumatic/ electronic controllers, and valve positioners, Familiarity with online process analyzers and instrumentation.
The main responsibilities of the position will involve:
- Supervise maintenance and troubleshooting of instrumentation and control systems, including sensors, transmitters, actuators, and controllers.
- Diagnose and rectify faults in Distributed Control Systems (esp. Emerson Ovation DCS, GE Mark VIe), Programmable Logic Controllers (Siemens PLCs, Allen Bradley), and related equipment Develop and execute preventive and predictive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime
- Calibrate and test instruments to ensure operational accuracy and reliability.
- Identify opportunities to optimize control loops and improve plant efficiency.
- Coordinate system upgrades and modifications with cross-functional teams.

- Prepare and present reports on maintenance activities, system performance, and maintenance outcomes.
- Continuously track the inventories of spare parts and initiate the procurement of spare parts when needed.
- Ensure adherence to safety standards, quality checks and regulatory guidelines during all maintenance activities.
- Implement the measures in daily operations to enhance safety, reliability & efficiency of plant.
