Position : GENERAL MANAGER UTILITIES MAINTENANCE
LOCATION: DR. ZIAUDDIN HOSPITAL, HEAD OFFICE NORTH NAZIMABAD, KARACHI
JOB SUMMARY: General Manager of utilities maintenance is responsible for overseeing all aspects of utilities maintenance, including the management, efficiency, and safety of critical hospital systems such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing. This senior role focuses on strategic planning, budget management and operational oversight to ensure all utility system function optimally, supporting the Hospital’s commitment to high-quality patient care. The general manager lead a team of maintenance professionals, coordinate with internal departments and implements sustainability and cost-saving initiatives.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee the day to day operations of all utility system, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and Wat management, ensuring they operate within optimal parameters.
- Develop and oversee preventive and predictive maintenance schedules to minimize equipment downtime and prolong asset life.
- Implement and manage emergency response protocols for critical utility failures to ensure minimal disruption to hospital. services.
- Monitor system performance and conduct inspection to identify any potential issues or areas for improvement.
- Coordinate with maintenance teams to ensure that preventive maintenance task are completed efficiently and effectively.
- Prepare financial report and justification for expenditure, providing budget forecast and adjustments and needed.
- “Any other task assigned by Top Management & chairman”
KNOWLEDGE & COMPETENCIES:
- Strong knowledge of utilities system and best practices in maintenance and operational efficiency.
- Strong budgeting and financial management skills, with experience in cost control, forecasting, and resource optimization.
- Proven leadership skills in team development, performance management and conflict resolution.
- Ability to develop and execute long-term strategies.
- Excellent time management, verbal and written communication skills.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Academic Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, electrical, or facilities engineering or Master’s degree preferred
- Professional Qualification: certification/diploma in facilities management or operations management/ short course is preferred
- Work Experience: 16 to 18 years of experience with 5 Years of experience in a senior management role.
