Mechanical Engineer – Maintenance (Karachi Port Terminal) Full Time

We are seeking a skilled and experienced individual for the position of Mechanical Engineer – Maintenance. Required a highly skilled and proactive “Mechanical Engineer” to lead the maintenance operations of our Reach Stackers / Trucks used for container loading, off-loading and transportation at our Karachi train / truck loading yards. This is a key mechanical position that ensures the optimal performance and availability of critical handling equipment in a dynamic logistics environment.
Job Description:
Lead the inspection, maintenance, and repair activities of Reach Stackers and other heavy container handling equipment.
Ensure minimum equipment downtime through preventive and predictive maintenance planning.
Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues in coordination with support teams.
Maintain maintenance logs, performance reports, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
Coordinate with equipment operators and logistics supervisors to align maintenance schedules with operational needs.
Guide and supervise a team of technicians and mechanics.
Requirements & Preferred Qualities:

Min. Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institution.
Minimum 8 years of hands-on experience with Reach Stackers, forklifts, or similar heavy-duty port/logistics machinery.
Strong knowledge of hydraulic systems, diesel engines, transmission systems, and industrial electronics.
Proven ability to diagnose and resolve mechanical faults independently and efficiently.
Familiarity with OEM manuals, maintenance tools, and diagnostic equipment.
Experience in preparing technical reports and maintenance budgets.
Strong leadership and team coordination skills.
Excellent problem-solving ability under time-sensitive conditions and Safety
Safety-conscious, Proactive, organized, and able to work under pressure.
Willingness to work in shifts and respond to urgent repair needs on short notice.
