Deputy MANAGER PLANNING & LOGISTICS
JOB SUMMARY: At United King, the Deputy Manager – Planning & Logistics, to be placed at Korangi, plays a key role in ensuring timely and efficient supply of raw and packaging materials, optimum warehouse utilization, and smooth delivery of finished goods across all retail and institutional channels. The role is crucial in upholding product freshness, safety, and quality, while managing cost and logistics efficiency across the food manufacturing value chain.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and monitor daily warehousing operations including storage, space planning, FIFO implementation, hygiene, and pest control in line with food safety standards.
- Manage material planning for raw and packaging items based on production schedules, sales forecasts, and safety stock levels to avoid stock-outs or overstocking.
- Oversee inventory control and reconciliation activities; ensure inventory accuracy through periodic physical counts and variance analysis.
- Schedule and manage inbound logistics for raw/packaging material and outbound logistics for finished goods, ensuring timely and damage-free deliveries.
- Handle cold chain logistics for perishable items (e.g., cakes) including temperature monitoring of delivery vehicles and adherence to quality control protocols.
- Coordinate with outsourced transportation partners, fleet tracking vendors, and internal delivery teams to ensure compliance with service standards and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with the Internal Audit and Quality teams for stock audits, storage conditions, and compliance to ISO, SFA, and HACCP standards.
- Review and optimize transportation routes, delivery schedules, and logistics costs in alignment with company targets.
- Generate MIS reports and data insights on stock levels, delivery metrics, logistics KPIs, and consumption patterns for management decision-making.
- Participate in recruitment, training, and performance review of logistics and warehouse staff with support from the HR team.
- Lead and support process improvement projects focused on cost reduction, waste minimization, and service level enhancement.
- Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and safety requirements, particularly related to food manufacturing and logistics.
- Ensure inventory levels are reviewed and optimized without impacting production flow or sales revenue
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
- Bachelor’s/Master’s in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Business Administration.
- 5-7 years of relevant experience in food manufacturing, bakery, or FMCG logistics operations.
- Proficient in ERP systems, inventory management software, and logistics tracking tools.
- Strong working knowledge of ISO 22000, HACCP, and other food safety standards.
