Assistant MANAGER MAINTENANCE
JOB SUMMARY: The Assistant Manager – Maintenance (Retail Outlets) is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day maintenance operations of United King’s retail stores. The role ensures that all equipment, fixtures, HVAC, refrigeration, and utilities across outlets function efficiently and in compliance with safety, hygiene, and food quality standards. This includes managing preventive and corrective maintenance, supervising technicians, and coordinating with vendors for timely repairs and installations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Plan and schedule preventive and corrective maintenance activities for all retail outlet equipment, including chillers, ovens, display counters, HVAC, lighting, and generators. • Respond to urgent repair requests from outlets and ensure prompt resolution with minimal operational disruption. • Supervise and guide in-house and third-party technicians across multiple retail locations. • Monitor and maintain refrigeration and cold chain systems, ensuring temperature-sensitive equipment meets food safety standards. • Coordinate with vendors and service providers for equipment servicing, repairs, and AMCs (Annual Maintenance Contracts). • Conduct regular inspections and audits of outlets to assess equipment performance, safety, and hygiene compliance. • Maintain accurate records of maintenance schedules, repair logs, and spare part consumption. • Ensure all work adheres to HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) regulations, food safety protocols, and company policies. • Support the installation and commissioning of new equipment or store expansions/renovations. • Monitor utility usage (electricity, gas, water) and identify cost-saving opportunities. • Assist in budget planning and cost control for maintenance operations across outlets. • Train and develop outlet staff on basic troubleshooting and maintenance reporting protocols. • Provide regular updates and reports to management on maintenance KPIs, open issues, and improvement plans. • Perform any ad-hoc tasks as required to support retail operations and business continuity.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS: • B.Tech / B.E in Electrical, Mechanical, or Mechatronics Engineering. • 4-6 years of maintenance experience, preferably in retail, QSR, bakery, or food service chains. • Strong knowledge of HVAC, refrigeration, electrical systems, kitchen equipment, and safety compliance. • Ability to manage field teams and coordinate across multiple locations.
