POSITION VACANT / RECTOR
National Textile University is a Federally Chartered Public Sector University imparting education in the field of textile for more than six (06) decades. The vision of the University is to be ranked among the best multi-disciplinary Universities of the country with flagship textile programs of international standard and to become a centre of excellence in textile education and research.
The ‘Rector Search Committee’ appointed by the Board of Governors (BOG) of the University invites applications for the position of ‘Rector, National Textile University, Faisalabad’ from highly accomplished and strongly motivated academic administrators. The incumbent will be the Chief Executive of the University in all fields of academics and administration and shall have overall responsibility for the organization and administration of the University in accordance with policies formulated by the Board.
QUALIFICATION / EXPERIENCE:
- Applicants must be Professor (as per HEC Criteria) having doctorate from HEC recognized reputed University, preferably in the field of Engineering, having distinguished leadership profile in education, professional and academic administration;
- Applicants must have industrial knowledge and exposure in the field of textile and holistic understanding of issues in higher education on national and international arenas;
- Applicants must have an understanding of the broad range of research, scholarship and creative activities associated with a university, vision and knowledge to advance the functions of the University, including human resource development for leadership in society and economic growth.
AGE: Applicant should not be more than 65 years of age on 25th September, 2024.
TERM OF APPOINTMENT:
The Rector shall be appointed for a period of four (04) years and entitled to salary package of Professor at Tenure Track System. All other privileges and allowances as currently admissible to Rector / Vice Chancellor of Public Sector universities of Pakistan will be applicable.
GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS:
Appropriately experienced candidates capable of taking up the challenge of the position may submit applications on prescribed proforma at HEC website https://careers.hec.gov.pk on or before 25th September, 2024. All interested candidates are advised to enrich themselves with knowledge about the University, its functioning and the courses being taught.
Those already in Government / Semi Government service are required to apply through proper channel. Only short-listed candidates will be called for interview for which no TA / DA will be admissible.
