We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Export Quality Lead to join Ismail Industries Limited. The ideal candidate will excel in maintaining international food safety standards, managing certifications, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver premium products to global markets.
Key Responsibilities:
· Ensure that biscuits/confectionery products meet international taste, texture, packaging, and durability standards.
· Conduct sensory evaluations and shelf-life tests to ensure product integrity during long shipping periods.
· Verify batch consistency and adherence to recipe specifications for export-grade products.
· Ensure compliance with food safety standards like HACCP, FSSC 22000, and international labeling regulations (e.g., allergen declarations, nutritional labeling).
· Adhere to the food import regulations of destination countries (e.g., EU standards, FDA requirements for the U.S., etc.).
· Manage export-related certifications (e.g., Halal, Kosher, Organic, etc.) based on target markets.
· Act as a liaison between the factory and the export office.
· Work closely with production, supply chain, and export teams to ensure alignment on quality expectations.
· Coordinate with external testing and certification bodies for product approvals.
· Verify that packaging materials meet international durability standards to prevent product damage during transit.
· Test packaging for moisture barriers and seal integrity to maintain freshness and quality.
· Oversee proper labeling for export markets, including language, barcodes, and country-specific requirements.
· Work closely with production teams to ensure hygienic conditions and compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
· Identify potential contamination risks specific to confectionery ingredients, such as chocolate or sugar-based products, and propose solutions.
· Ensure that raw ingredients like flour, sugar, chocolate, and flavorings comply with export quality standards.
· Verify the traceability of all ingredients to meet stringent export audit requirements.
· Identify risks like temperature sensitivity during shipping for chocolates or moisture degradation for biscuits.
· Plan mitigation strategies, such as modified-atmosphere packaging or cold chain logistics.
