Junior Officer/Inspector – Coal Operations
The ideal candidate should have the following qualification, experience and skill sets:
- DAE in Electrical or Mechanical or related field.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience of working in power plant or a similar industrial environment is desirable.
The main responsibilities of the position will involve:
- Operate and monitor coal handling systems including conveyor belts, coal crushers, roller screens, bunkers, and samplers
- Operate and manage the Bucket Wheel Stacker Reclaimer for efficient coal stacking and reclaiming.
- Regularly inspect conveyor belts for alignment, wear, spillage, and cleanliness.
- Inspect belt drive motors, including checking vibration and temperature readings of motors, bearings, and gear reducers during operation.
- Understand and monitor all belt protection signals (e.g., belt sway, pull cord, zero speed, chute blockage, and interlocks) to ensure system reliability and safety.
- Ensure proper stacking, reclaiming, and housekeeping in the coal yard.
- Monitor coal quality and quantity during operations.
- Handle spontaneous combustion incidents in the coal yard.
- Follow all standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols.
- Assist in emergency shutdown and startup procedures when required.
