CAREER OPPORTUNITY: IBA Karachi seeks applications from dynamic and result oriented individuals for the following full-time positions:
Manager – Alumni Affairs
The Manager, Alumni Affairs will lead the Alumni Affairs function and develop strong, long-term relationships with IBA alumni. The position will oversee alumni engagement initiatives, events, communications, chapters, database management, and alumni-related fundraising, while leading and developing the Alumni Affairs team.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and implement strategies to strengthen alumni engagement and participation.
- Build and maintain relationships with alumni, batches, chapters, and key stakeholders.
- Plan and lead alumni events, networking activities, reunions, and engagement initiatives.
- Oversee alumni queries and ensure timely and effective resolution.
- Manage and improve the alumni database, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
- Lead alumni communications, including newsletters, magazines, social media, WhatsApp groups, and other publications.
- Manage and coordinate activities of IBA Alumni Chapters and their coordinators.
- Work closely with Resource Mobilization to develop alumni fundraising and “Give Back to IBA” initiatives.
- Manage budgets, vendors, and operational requirements for alumni activities.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the Alumni Affairs team and monitor team performance.
- Coordinate with relevant internal departments to ensure smooth execution of alumni initiatives.
- Track and report on key alumni engagement activities and performance indicators.
QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Masters Degree from an HEC-recognized institution, preferably in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or related discipline.
- Minimum 5-7 years of relevant experience in Alumni Relations, Community Engagement, Stakeholder Management, Event Management and Communications.
KNOWLEDGE & COMPETENCIES:
- Strong MS Office skills, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with databases/CRM and digital communication platforms.
- Strong event planning, project management, and reporting skills.
- Good understanding of social media and digital engagement.
Assistant Manager – IT Network
Assistant Network Manager will be a part of the ICT Operations team at IBA. The incumbent will support the Manager IT in the day-to-day operation, monitoring, maintenance, troubleshooting, and administration of IBAs network infrastructure and related ICT services.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in the day-to-day administration and operation of LAN, WAN, WLAN, Internet, and network security infrastructure.
- Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise network switches, routers, wireless access points/controllers, firewalls, and related network equipment.
- Monitor network performance, availability, bandwidth utilization, security events, and overall network health.
- Implement and manage VLANs, routing, switching, STP, LACP, QoS, DHCP, DNS, and IP addressing.
- Perform hands-on administration and troubleshooting of enterprise firewalls, including firewall policies, NAT, routing, VPNs, security profiles, and access control rules.
- Assist in the configuration and management of firewall security features such as IPS/IDS, application control, web filtering, antivirus, and threat prevention.
- Monitor firewall logs, security alerts, traffic patterns, and suspicious network activities and escalate security incidents when required.
- Assist in reviewing and maintaining firewall rules and access policies in accordance with organizational security requirements.
- Support the implementation of network segmentation and security controls to protect critical systems and network resources.
- Troubleshoot network connectivity and security-related issues and perform root-cause analysis.
- Assist in the implementation, upgrade, and migration of network and firewall infrastructure.
- Ensure regular backup of network device and firewall configurations.
- Maintain updated network diagrams, IP address schemes, firewall documentation, configuration records, and asset inventories.
- Coordinate with vendors and service providers for Internet links, firewall support, network equipment, maintenance, and SLA-related matters.
- Assist in data center network operations and ensure the availability and security of critical network services.
- Prepare network performance, incident, security, and maintenance reports for management.
- Ensure compliance with organizational IT policies, network security standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE:
- 16 years of education from an HEC-recognized institution, preferably in with a major in Computer Science (CS) or Information Technology (IT) CCNP, Fortinet, Huawei, H3C, or other relevant network/security certifications will be an advantage.
- Minimum 5-7 years of relevant experience in a reputable organization, preferably in a university.

Executive – Department of Management, SBS
The incumbent will be responsible for overseeing the overall operations of the Department of Management, SBS, ensuring effective coordination of academic, administrative, and faculty-related activities.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide comprehensive administrative support to the Chairperson by allocating courses, calculating faculty workload, managing calendars, arranging meetings, coordinating job talks and interviews, and executing ad-hoc departmental tasks.
- Coordinate faculty-related activities by onboarding full-time and visiting faculty, managing TA hiring and payments, organizing trainings, facilitating guest speaker sessions, arranging industry visits, and executing departmental events.
- Manage academic and accreditation documentation by collecting, mapping, and updating AACSB data, tracking course outlines (CLOs/PLOs), and following up on LMS submissions from faculty.
- Handle internal and external departmental communications by liaising with Deans Office, IT, Finance, HR, Library, and other departments to ensure timely submissions and achieve deadlines.
- Prepare and maintain records of minutes for Board of Studies, departmental, and cluster meetings, while supporting course lead faculty in organizing meeting logistics.
- Maintain and update departmental digital presence by curating faculty profiles, managing MS Management website content, and coordinating media displays and academic information.
- Any other task assigned by the HOD.
QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelors degree from an HEC-recognized university or institution.
- Preferably 2 years of overall professional experience; relevant experience will be an added advantage.
KNOWLEDGE & COMPETENCIES:
- CLO-PLO mapping
- MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Digitally proficient
Executive – Legal Affairs
The Legal Executive shall be responsible to look over operations, which will include drafting legal documents such as memos, agreements, and contracts. He/she shall be responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance and providing legal advice that aligns with the institutes objectives.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct thorough legal research and analysis on various legal issues, statutes, regulations, and case laws relevant to the departments activities. Prepare comprehensive summaries and reports based on research findings.
- Drafting and reviewing of legal documents, including contracts, agreements, memos, and correspondence, and providing advice on routine matters.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date legal records, contracts, and other legal documentation. Create and manage electronic and physical filing systems to ensure efficient retrieval and storage of legal documents.
- Provide general administrative support to the legal team, including preparing presentations, scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, taking meeting minutes, and coordinating travel arrangements.
- Assist with managing the departments budget and expense tracking, including the generation of PRs and all budget-related acquisitions.
- Communicate legal information and updates clearly and concisely to internal stakeholders.
- Foster positive relationships with external contacts, such as external counsel.
QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelors of Laws (LLB) from an HEC-recognized institute/University.
- 2-3 years of experience, preferably in a similar capacity, in Corporate Legal Affairs.
KNOWLEDGE & COMPETENCIES:
- Strong legal research skills
- Understanding of legal structures, compliance requirements, and corporate governance
- Proficiency in drafting and reviewing contracts and agreements
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with internal and external stakeholders
