Job Title: Accounts Officer / Specialist – Coal Mining Industry

Job Overview: We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Accounts Officer / Specialist to join our Finance Department at the Karachi Office within the coal mining industry. In this role, you will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations, maintaining accurate financial records, supporting audits, and ensuring compliance with company policies and financial regulations. This position plays a key role in supporting the company’s financial health and operational transparency.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including journals, ledgers, and other accounting documents.
• Process accounts payable and receivable transactions, ensuring timely and accurate recording.
• Perform regular reconciliations of financial accounts to identify and resolve discrepancies.
• Manage and reconcile bank statements, and other financial accounts.
• Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Respond to vendor and internal accounting questions.
• Provide support to the finance team for audits and tax preparation.
• Manage voucher and financial file management.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree or above in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CA-Inter, ACCA, or ICMA part-qualified candidates will be preferred).
2. More than 3 years of proven experience in an accounting role within the finance department of a medium to large-scale firm.
3. Proficient in using SAP system for financial transactions, reporting, and data management.
4. Skilled in accounting software and advanced MS Excel functions (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP, financial modeling).
5. Sound knowledge of international accounting standards (IFRS) and local accounting principles in Pakistan, with the ability to accurately record and interpret business transactions.
6. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
7. Strong organizational and time management skills.
8. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
9. Ability to maintain confidentiality.
10. Proficient in English and Chinese will be preferred.
