VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT: University of Central Punjab (UCP) is looking for candidates for the position of “IT Officer”. We are inviting applications from candidates who meet the criteria given below:
Position: IT Officer
Department: IT Department
Eligibility Criteria:
- Educational Qualification: Intermediate, BA, BSc, BS-IT, or BSCS degree from an HEC-recognized University/Institute.
- Experience: Minimum of 0-2 years.
Purpose:
To provide effective and timely support to end users.
Key Responsibilities:
- To provide prioritized technical support to students and teachers in Computer Labs.
- To diagnose and resolve basic network, software and hardware faults and perform basic maintenance repairs & Upgrades to ensure that all systems and devices are working well.
- Installation and backups of Operating systems and applications according to requirement.
- Deployment of PCs and associated peripherals including new installations and the redeployment of existing equipment.
- Record, track, and document the issues in daily activity reports, including all Closed and Open, and actions taken, through to the final resolution.
- To work continuously on a task until completion or referral to another shift member.
- To prepare daily classes log report held in the Lab.

Position: Deputy Manager Network
Department: IT Department
Eligibility Criteria:
- Educational Qualification: BSc, BS-IT, BSCS, or M.Phil degree from an HEC-recognized University/Institute.
- Experience: Minimum of 6-8 years.
Purpose: Responsible to take the lead on day-to-day monitoring for unusual activities, implement defensive protocols and report incidents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Configuration, installation and management of Access and Distribution layer switches, Link Balancer, Web Filter, Sys Logs and Firewalls.
- Wireless Controller Management and Faculty/Staff MAC filtering.
- Configuration, installation and management of Network Wireless Access Points.
- Identification and resolution of network issues.
- Performance monitoring of network devices.
- UPS backup assurance and replacement of network devices.
- Monitoring network traffic, and activity, capacity and usage to ensure continued integrity and optimal network performance.
- Perform data backups and disaster recovery operations.
- Assessing and recommending improvements to network operations and integrated hardware, software, communications and operating systems.
- Preparing and maintaining procedures and documentation for network inventory, and recording diagnosis and resolution of network faults, enhancements and modifications to networks, and maintenance instructions.
- Assign and Monitor Tasks/queries to network support team.
- Supervise the shift operations and prepare daily, weekly, monthly checklist.
- Configuration, implementation of NMS to keep the network secure and trouble free.
- Monitoring Network performance to ensure smooth and secure execution of every Network device. Also track and monitor the Network issues and compile incident reports when and if any occurs.
