Job Title: Legal Manager – Coal Mining Industry
Job Overview: We are URGENTLY SEEKING an experienced and highly skilled Legal Manager with over 5 years of relevant experience, particularly within the power or coal mining sectors. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of Pakistan’s legal framework, including extensive experience in corporate and mining law, SECP regulations, and land acquisition processes. This is an excellent opportunity for a strategic legal professional who can handle complex legal matters, build and maintain strong relationships within both government and private sectors, and support our company’s objectives in the power and mining industries.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage all legal matters related to our operations in the power and mining sectors, ensuring compliance with Pakistan’s laws and industry regulations.
- Provide expert legal advice on land acquisition, regulatory compliance, and corporate governance, particularly in relation to SECP and other government bodies.
- Maintain and strengthen relationships with government authorities, regulatory bodies, and private sector stakeholders.
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and agreements related to mining and energy projects, ensuring the company’s interests are protected.
- Lead legal due diligence and risk assessment for projects, acquisitions, and other strategic initiatives.
- Monitor legislative changes and provide guidance on potential impacts on company operations.
- Handle legal disputes, litigations, and arbitration matters as required.
Qualifications:
- Law degree from an accredited institution; additional legal certifications or bar membership in Pakistan is preferred.
- At least 5 years of experience in a similar role, ideally within the power or mining sectors.
- In-depth knowledge of Pakistan’s laws, particularly corporate and mining law, SECP regulations, and land acquisition matters.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Established connections with government and private sector entities, including regulatory and legal bodies.
- Proficient in English both written and spoken, and Chinese will be an advantage
