POSITION VACANT: Vice Chancellor of National Skills University (NSU), Islamabad
National Skills University (NSU), Islamabad is the first public sector university established on the premise of fast job transformation challenges associated with the Fourth Industrial Revolution (IR 4.0). This higher education institute differs from the conventional higher education institutes by paying more attention to inculcate job-ready skills among learners besides their cognitive development.
Applications are invited for the post of Vice Chancellor, NSU, Islamabad from accomplished and strongly motivated academic leaders and administrators who can further develop and improve the management of the National Skills University (NSU), Islamabad.
Eligibility Criteria:
The applicant shall:
a) Not be more than 65 years of age on the last date fixed for submission of application.
b) Have earned a Ph.D. Degree from an HEC recognized or UNESCO-listed institution.
c) Have Minimum 10 years experience after PhD qualification. Desirable experience should include in a Senior Academic, Research and Management leadership position, preferably in skill related disciplines.
d) Possess distinguished Research and Publications record.
Qualification and Experience:
Applicants will be assessed according to their academic and leadership abilities and attainments, as well as significant evidence of scholarship, administration, meaningful research, strategic planning, financial management and resource development. Applicant must have a holistic understanding of issues pertaining to the dynamics of skills development and its linkages with national and international job opportunities. He/she should be able to forge partnerships with public, private and development partners to mobilize resources through innovative strategies.
Terms of Appointment:
The Vice Chancellor shall be appointed by the Chancellor for a period of four (04) years as provided under law and will be entitled to draw “Vice Chancellor Salary Package” as approved by the Chancellor.

Appropriately experienced candidates capable of taking up the challenge of the position may submit applications on prescribed proforma at HEC website https://careers.hec.gov.pk by attaching detailed CV, copies of the testimonials, experience certificate and other documentary proofs of accomplishments on or before 25.09.2024. Also submit letter of intent explaining in less than 500 words the vision to strengthen, and enhance possibilities of development and sustenance of the University’s programs. The applicant to also submit an analysis of local and international market needs and linkages of curriculum and courses of university. All interested candidates are advised to enrich themselves with knowledge about the University, its functioning and the courses being taught.
Those already in Government / Semi Government service are required to apply through proper channel. Only short-listed candidates will be called for interview for which no TA / DA will be admissible.
