Habib Metro Jobs Head Shariah Compliance & Secretary :

HABIBMETRO is inviting applications for “Head – Shari’ah Compliance & Secretary Shari’ah Board” for Islamic Banking Division.

Experience:- Preferably 12 years of banking experience with minimum 05 years in Islamic banking experience at senior level.

Major Responsibilities:

To manage the ‘Shari’ah Board Secretariat’ with the responsibility to oversee all necessary tasks of Shari’ah Board Secretariat including; Timely preparation of meetings’ agenda, proposals, and working papers for onward submission to the SB before meeting.
Preparation of Draft minutes of SB meeting and obtaining feedback from the management prior its approval from the SB.
To maintain proper record of agenda items, minutes of the SB meetings and fatawa issued by the SB along with their rationale.
Ensure timely dissemination of SB decisions by way of issuance of resolutions and extracts of the approved minutes of the SB meetings.
Engage Departmental Heads and senior stakeholders for timely enforcement of action points decided by the Shari’ah Board.
Coordinate and communicate with the regulator and External Shari’ah Auditors for the matters related to SCD and Shari’ah Board being the “Head – Shari’ah Compliance & Secretary Shari’ah Board”
To keep a continuous watch on the bank’s Shari’ah compliance environment by leading internal Shari’ah control Review(s) of the Bank’s business units, branches, and other Head Office departments in line with the approved annual review plan under the guidance of RSBM/ SB.
To ensure that all organs of Shari’ah Governance including the Board of Director (BOD) oversight mechanism, internal Shari’ah audit, and enforcement of the SB’s directives by Central.
Management Committee (CMC) are operative and are effectively discharging their respective functions and responsibilities as defined in the Framework.
To supervise the Shari’ah Reviews of all the product proposals and related agreements, contracts, manuals, process flows, checklists that are submitted by the management before presenting these to the SB for approval.
To supervise the monthly Shari’ah review of profit and loss distribution to the depositors prior to its disbursement.
To submit a semi-annual report to the SB on the overall Shari’ah compliance environment of the Bank, the ownership and commitment of the BOD and CMC in building the necessary infrastructure for Shari’ah compliance together with identifying key areas of improvement.
