O.T Technician (NEURO SPINE)
LOCATION: DR. ZIAUDDIN HOSPITAL, HEAD OFFICE NORTH NAZIMABAD CAMPUS
JOB SUMMARY: Assist surgeons during complex spinal procedures by ensuring all necessary instruments, equipment, and materials are available, sterilized, and functioning correctly. The technician also plays a crucial role in patient safety, infection control, and operating room efficiency.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare and sterilize surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies specific to spine surgery.
- Set up the OT with required surgical tools and ensure proper functionality of C-arm, microscope, and other spine-specific equipment.
- Verify patient identity and surgical procedure details with the surgical team.
- Assist in positioning the patient correctly for spine procedures, ensuring comfort and safety.
- Anticipate the surgeon’s needs during the surgery, passing instruments and supplies efficiently.
- Participate in regular maintenance checks of OT equipment and report any malfunctions.
- Collect and decontaminate used instruments and dispose of waste according to hospital protocols.
- Operate and adjust specialized equipment such as drills, endoscopes, and navigation systems used in spine surgery.
- Assist the neuro-spine surgeon and surgical team during the operation by passing instruments, holding retractors, and maintaining the sterile field.
- Monitor and manage surgical consumables and implants (e.g., screws, rods, cages).

REQUIREMENTS:
- Academic Qualification: Science – Matric/ Intermediate/ Graduation
- Professional Qualification: Relevant short O.T courses and certification.
- Work Experience: 3-5 years in O.T
