Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Asst. Manager to lead the maintenance and reliability of high-speed confectionery production and packaging equipment. The ideal candidate will drive equipment uptime, lead technical teams, ensure compliance with food safety standards, and support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance plant performance.
- Process Equipment Maintenance: Oversee the preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of specialized confectionery machinery, including:
- Cooking & Kitchen Equipment: Dissolvers, continuous cookers, vacuum cookers, and syrup dosing systems.
- Forming Lines: Extruders, rope sizers, batch rollers, cooling tunnels, and jelly depositing/molding lines.
- High-Speed Packaging: Flow-wrappers, cut-and-wrap machines, multi-head weighers, vertical form-fill-seal (VFFS) machines, and cartoning equipment.
- Operational Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and schedule tasks for shift technicians. Foster a culture of continuous learning and quick problem-solving.
- Downtime & Breakdown Reduction: Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for complex machinery failures on high-speed lines, implementing permanent corrective actions (CAPA).
- Food Safety & EHS Compliance: Ensure all maintenance activities adhere strictly to food safety regulations (GMP, HACCP, FSSC 22000) and plant safety guidelines, using food-grade lubricants and clean-room practices.
- Spare Parts Optimization: Manage inventory for critical, high-wear confectionery machine spares (cutting knives, sealing jaws, heating elements, molds) to prevent prolonged downtime.
- Continuous Improvement: Utilize OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) data to drive Kaizen and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) initiatives on the production floor.
What we’re looking for
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical.
- 5–7 years of engineering experience in Food, Beverage, or FMCG manufacturing.
- Proficiency using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) or SAP/Oracle PM modules.
- Solid understanding of hygienic design, food safety standards (GMP/HACCP), and utility systems (steam boilers, chilled water systems, compressed air).
