Job Summary The Manager Legal is responsible for drafting and negotiating contracts, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting governance processes. The role involves advising on legal matters related to financial products, liaising with regulators and auditors, managing statutory filings, and overseeing legal aspects of procurement. The position requires strong legal expertise and the ability to work across teams to mitigate risk and support business strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, review and negotiate legal documents including commercial contracts, NDAs, SLAs, MoUs, and strategic partnership agreements.
- Provide legal opinions on financial products, investment transactions, and regulatory matters concerning SBP, SECP, and other authorities.
- Monitor changes in legal and regulatory environments (e.g., AML/CFT, PONV clauses, SECP/ SBP directives) and ensure internal compliance.
- Stay updated on relevant laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
- Liaise with regulators, legal advisors, and auditors as required. Support legal proceedings by preparing briefs and coordinating with external counsel.
- Collaborate with teams to develop legal strategies for business transactions and governance.
- Prepare minutes and resolutions for Board and Committee meetings; ensure compliance with SECP’s corporate governance framework.
- Manage regulatory filings (Form A/29 and others, annual returns, etc.) and assist in internal and external audits.
- Manage legal and contractual aspects of procurement activities.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to contracts.
Education LLB or LLM/MBA/Bar at Law preferred
Experience Minimum 5-7 years
Functional Competencies
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Law, Business, or a related field.
- Prior experience in legal, corporate and or procurement roles preferred.
- Strong knowledge of contract law, and corporate governance
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
